BOONEVILLE – Northeast Mississippi closed its season with a victory, beating Mississippi Delta 30-9 on Thursday night.
The Tigers (4-5) rolled up a 422-160 edge in total offense, all of it rushing, as they were 0 for 5 passing.
Corbin White led the way with 16 carries for 172 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown. Matthew Belue (15-105) and Jerrard Randall (15-72-2) also turned in strong rushing efforts.
Northeast led 27-9 at the end of the first quarter, after two TD runs by Randall, White’s long run and a 95-yard interception return by Miguel Graham. Chris Cooper added a 32-yard field goal before halftime.
The second half was scoreless.
East Mississippi 59, ICC 13: The second-ranked Lions earned their third consecutive MACJC North Division championship as they remained unbeaten (9-0, 6-0 division).
Dontreal Pruitt, the reigning juco national player of the week, threw three touchdowns and ran for another.
ICC (6-3, 4-2) got two TD passes from Griff Loftis (Mooreville), 4 yards to Archie Dennard and 49 to Shante Rogers (Itawamba AHS).
The Indians’ 13 points are the most allowed this season by the Lions.
ICC travel to Jones County to take on the No. 4-ranked Bobcats in the MACJC State semifinals next Saturday.
