Northeast's Jessica Hooker named NJCAA All-American

Northeast Mississippi Community College Lady Tiger forward Jessica Hooker of Brownsville, Tenn., was recently named an honorable mention All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

A two-year starter for coach Ricky Ford at Northeast, Hooker led the Lady Tigers with 22.2 points (eighth in the NJCAA) and 8.3 rebounds per game during her sophomore season in Booneville. She was also the Lady Tigers' best field goal shooter, hitting on 60.9 percent (ninth in the NJCAA) of her attempts from the floor.

Selected a 2005-06 team captain by her teammates, Hooker was an All-Region 23, All-Region 23 Tournament, first team All-State and North All-Star team selection.

In 2004-05 Hooker led the Lady Tigers in field goal percentage at 60.5 percent and was a second team All-State pick.

Hooker will join Northeast teammate Brittany Boone of Somerville, Tenn. at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. next season.
