BOONEVILLE – NEMCC’s first year head coach Cord Wright has inked another standout recruit to add to his 2013-14 class.

Dimario Jackson, 5-10, 165-pound point guard from Brusly High School in Addis, La., has signed to be a member of the Tiger basketball team.

“I am very excited about adding Dimario to our team, Wright said. “He is a very tough pass first point guard that loves to compete. He will bring some more depth to our backcourt, which will be very beneficial to us”

During his senior season at Brusly High School, Dimario averaged just over 16 points per game to go along with 4.6 assists while being named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s Class 3A All-State basketball second team.

“I feel like this will be a great opportunity for me,” Jackson said. “I think I will be able to come in and help out with leadership and a winning attitude since we won a bunch of ball games here in high school I feel like I can carry over that winning attitude.”

Dimario was first team All-Metro, first team All-District and first team All-District Most Valuable player in 2012-13 and helped lead his squad to the state quarter finals.

Dimario also played running back and defensive back for Brusly High School.

When asked why Jackson chose Northeast to continue his academic and athletic career, he responded “that I chose Northeast because it is a great school and a great opportunity for me and I know Coach Wright and he is known here in Louisiana also so I really wanted to play for him.”
