Odie and the Rattlers return to ArenaBowl

First and goal - American FootballVardaman’s Odie Armstrong and his Arizona Rattlers teammates are headed to their third consecutive ArenaBowl game.

Nick Davila threw eight touchdown passes as the defending champs rallied Saturday night to beat the Spokane Shock 65-57 for the National Conference title.

The Rattlers will play the Philadelphia Soul, Saturday in Orlando, in ArenaBowl XXVI. The game, with a noon kickoff, is on CBS.

It’s a rematch of last year’s 72-54 Arizona win

Arizona trailed 21-7 at the end of the first quarter but started its comeback with a 15-yard TD from Davila to Armstrong, the former ICC standout who plays fullback.

The Rattlers took the lead for good at 38-35 early in the third quarter.

Davila completed 24 of 42 passes for 294 yards.

Erik Mayer threw seven TDs and also had a scoring run for Spokane.

ALL-ARENA: Last week, both QB Davila and Armstrong were named to the All-Arena second team.
