Ole Miss athletics director Pete Boone said he expects to begin meetings with Mike Bianco today.
The Rebels' baseball coach is in line for a raise after completing a 44-22 season in Game 3 of the NCAA Oxford Super Regional on Monday night, a 14-9 loss to Miami.
Bianco is 242-132-1 in six seasons at Ole Miss.
His total compensation approaches $500,000 with a $300,000 annual salary plus outside income sources.
Bianco's name is frequently mentioned in connection with his alma mater, LSU. The job became open June 4 when Tigers coach Smoke Laval was fired.
Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin interviewed for the position Monday.
Boone said Tuesday he has not been contacted by LSU athletics director Skip Bertman or representatives seeking to speak to Bianco.
Bianco deflected questions about LSU late Monday. He has repeatedly stressed contentment at Ole Miss and appreciation for what he calls the administration's commitment to baseball.
