Ole Miss climbs up in baseball poll

After a 3-1 week, including a series road win on the opening SEC weekend, Ole Miss climbed three spots to No. 18 in this week’s Baseball America Top 25.
The Rebels (15-5) are back in action tonight at 6:30 against Southern Miss at Trustmark Park in Pearl.
Under first-year coach Scott Berry, Southern Miss is 13-5 after splitting two games at Louisiana Tech over the weekend. The final game of the series was cancelled because of snow.
The Golden Eagles are hitting .329 as a team, led b B.A. Vollmuth at .386, and are pitching with a 3.87 earned run average.
Freshman Tanner Mathis is hitting .391 to lead Ole Miss.
The teams split two games last year, Ole Miss winning 8-4 in Hattiesburg and losing 6-4 in Pearl. They play again Arpil 20 in Oxford.
The Rebels return to Swayze Field Wednesday with a 6:30 p.m., start against St. Louis, who are 11-9 following a doubleheader sweep of Kansas Saturday.
