Ole Miss fires softball coach after 14-39 season

OXFORD — Ole Miss has fired softball coach Missy Dickerson after a dismal season that ended with a 14-39 record, including a 3-23 record in the Southeastern Conference.

The school announced Dickerson’s contract would not be renewed on Monday. She coached the Rebels for six seasons, compiling a 140-193 overall record and a 48-118 mark in SEC play. She led the Rebels to their first three SEC Tournaments in program history and a 29-27 record in 2010, which was the program’s second winning season.

Ole Miss associate athletic director Lynnette Johnson said a search for Dickerson’s replacement would begin immediately.
