Ole Miss football work begins on Wednesday



OXFORD – The third season for Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze gets under way Wednesday.

Coming off an 8-5 season, the Rebels begin spring drills with an afternoon practice following a morning news conference with Freeze.

The annual Grove Bowl is set for April 5.

The Rebels return experience at quarterback as Bo Wallace returns for a third season as the starter.

There are holes to fill at wide receiver with the loss of Donte Moncrief and Ja-Mes Logan and along the offensive line, where the Rebels will miss Evan Swindall, a three-year starter at center.

On defense, middle linebacker Mike Marry and end Cameron Whigham must be replaced.

Mississippi State opens camp on March 18.
