Josh Laxer, a sophomore pitcher on the Ole Miss baseball team, was arrested last week on a charge of public drunkenness, Oxford Police have confirmed.
“We are aware of the situation involving Josh Laxer and are looking into it,” Rebels coach Mike Bianco said in a statement. “Once we have all the information, we will take the proper action and handle the situation internally.”
Laxer, who played at Madison Central High School prior to Ole Miss, was 4-0 with a 5.60 ERA in 12 appearances as a freshman. He started five games.
