No further punishment is coming for Ole Miss tailback Enrique Davis, who entered a guilty plea for simple assault in Oxford Municipal Court on Aug. 25.
A court document obtained by the Clarion-Ledger stated that Davis, 21, pleaded guilty for an incident that occurred at 2110 West Jackson Avenue on Feb. 28.
Through a school spokesman, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt said, “We handled it internally back in the spring and put it behind us.”
A junior from Lynn Haven, Fla., Davis participated in spring drills and has been a team member in good standing through camp and the regular season.
Through the Rebels’ first two games Davis has rushed 31 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Ole Miss plays at home against Vanderbilt today at 11:21 a.m.
