MSU hosts round robin
Mississippi State’s baseball team has another full weekend ahead of it, assuming the weather cooperates.
The Bulldogs (6-2) host Connecticut and Lipscomb in a double round robin event, starting with today’s 2:30 p.m. game versus UConn (2-4). MSU went 4-0 last weekend with wins over Kansas and Mississippi Valley State, then lost 7-6 to Memphis on Wednesday.
Sophomore Ben Bracewell (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for State today. He’ll be countered by UConn left-hander Brian Ward (2-0, 1.26).
The game was originally scheduled for 6:30, but impending weather forced a time change. Lipscomb and UConn will meet at 11 a.m. today.
On Saturday, MSU will play Lipscomb (4-4) at 11 a.m. and then UConn at 2:30 p.m. The Bulldogs close out the weekend Sunday with a 2:30 p.m. game against Lipscomb.
