OXFORD – Ole Miss cornerback Charles Sawyer is suspended and will not travel with the 25th-ranked Rebels to their game at Texas.
Ole Miss faces the Longhorns Saturday night at 7.
Sawyer was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with DUI and running a stop sign.
Sawyer was held out of last Saturday’s Southeast Missouri game as he continues to try and fully heal from off-season surgeries on his rotator cuff and meniscus. He played sparingly in the season opener at Vanderbilt.
It’s unclear when Sawyer, a senior from Miami who stared 10 games at cornerback last year, might return.
