Alpine skiing, take two. After races over the weekend were postponed because of the weather, NBC will try to include the men’s downhill in its prime time coverage Monday. That’s assuming it’s actually run that day. NBC also will air the pairs figure skating final, along with speedskating and snowboardcross.
SHANI’S SECOND: After finishing back in the pack in the 5,000 meters, American speedskater Shani Davis will race in the 500. Tucker Fredricks could also contend for the United States.
STREAK: The Russians or Soviets have won gold in pairs figure skating at every Olympics since 1964. Two-time bronze medalists Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China will try to end that run.
WORTH THE WAIT?: It’s been four years since Bode Miller underachieved at the Turin Games. Now, he’s had to wait a little longer for his chance to ski the men’s downhill, which was pushed back from Saturday to Monday.
ALMOST TIME: Curling, a major pastime in Canada, starts Tuesday morning. The Canadians are the defending gold medalists in the men’s event and among the favorites again.
