Slightly warmer temperatures and partly cloudy skies are projected to greet Ole Miss and Mississippi State for the beginning of college baseball season.
The Rebels, picked third in the SEC Western Division by league coaches, throw out the first pitch at 3 p.m., against Louisiana-Monroe.
The Bulldogs, picked sixth in the West, open at 4 p.m., against Rhode Island.
Ole Miss went 44-20 last season, 20-10 in SEC play, and shared the SEC overall title with LSU. The Rebels advanced to a seventh-consecutive NCAA tournament and reached the super regional round for the fourth time in five years.
ULM was 32-27 last season, 12-17 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Remaining game times for Ole Miss-ULM are 2:30 p.m., Saturday and 1:30 p.m., Sunday.
MSU, facing Rhode Island for the first time, will play 13 consecutive home games to start the season. The Rams were 37-20-1 last season, second in the Atlantic 10.
