Pomeranz will get his first big-league start on Sunday

The Best Week Ever just keeps getting better for Drew Pomeranz.
The former Ole Miss standout, a No. 5 overall draft pick last summer, learned on Tuesday that he’ll get his first big-league start on Sunday in Denver, as his Colorado Rockies entertain the Cincinnati Reds.
It’s subject to change, but Pomeranz may be facing struggling veteran Dontrelle Willis (0-5, 4.21).
On Monday, Pomeranz pitched three perfect innings for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, then learned after the game that he’d be called up by the Rockies.
The fifth overall pick of the Cleveland Indians last year, Pomeranz was part of a four-for-one trade with Colorado for pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez on July 31. His appearabnce onb Monday was his first since an emergency appendectomy two weeks ago.
