Buzz: Rematch with Pontotoc Saturday at home. Beat the Warriors last month.

Buzz: Tigers won only five games last season. Quality March wins against Booneville and at Belmont.

Buzz: A perfect 5-0 in division, Rebels senior Josh Walden was hitting .686 after 13 games, with 3 HRs.

Buzz: Lady Panthers have recent wins against Smithville, Hamilton and losses to Hatley, New Hope.

Buzz: Lady Lions defeated Smithville in Monroe County Tournament.

(2A) Hatley 9-7

Buzz: Lady Tigers beat Amory, but had losses to Hamilton, Smithville.

(3A) Mooreville 17-2

Buzz: Lady Troopers avenged an earlier defeat with a 15-5 win against Saltillo.

(1A) Smithville 15-4

Buzz: Lady Seminoles beat Hatley, but suffered losses to Amory, Hamilton.

New Albany AD honored by NIAAA

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association has announced that New Albany athletic director Shane Sanderson has been recognized as a Certified Athletic Administrator.

The NIAAA determined that Sanderson demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration.

The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s educational background, experience and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written exam.
