Ole Miss safety Cody Prewitt and Mississippi State offensive lineman Gabe Jackson have been named first-team All-SEC by The Associated Press.
Prewitt, a junior from Bay Springs, currently leads the SEC with six interceptions.
He shares the team lead in tackles with 70 and leads the team with seven pass break-ups.
Jackson, a senior from Liberty, graded higher than 80 percent in every game and did not allow a sack.
He has been named winner of the Kent Hull Trophy as Mississippi’s top offensive lineman and of the Conerly Trophy as the state’s top overall player.
Both teams were also represented elsewhere on the All-SEC squads.
Ole Miss placed two freshmen on the second-team offense – left tackle Laremy Tunsil and tight end Evan Engram.
The Rebels were represented on the second-team defense by linebacker Serderius Bryant, who shared the team lead in tackles with Prewitt, and linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche.
MSU was represented on the honorable mention defense by freshman tackle Chris Jones, of Houston, and senior safety Nickoe Whitley.
