Rain stops MSU-Tennessee series

For the second time in as many years, rains prevented Mississippi State and Tennessee from completing their baseball series.

After the No. 6-ranked Bulldogs took the first two against the No. 5 Volunteers, Sunday's finale was cancelled and will not be made up.

MSU won 8-2 on Friday before taking Saturday's outing 4-3 behind a superb performance on the mound by Josh Johnson, staring his first SEC game.

The Bulldogs, who are 15-0, play host to UAB on Tuesday and Jacksonville State on Wednesday before traveling to LSU for a three-game set beginning on Friday.
