Texas Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland, the former Amory and Mississippi State standout,was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday with a hamstring strain.
According to Dallas media reports, there’s no guarantee Moreland will be ready to come off the DL quickly.
He left Wednesday’s game in Boston after sustaining the injury while running the bases in the seventh inning.
The 27-year-old Moreland had appeared in all 58 games for the Rangers, batting .288 with 12 home runs and 29 RBIs.
