By NEMS Daily Journal

Chris Rankin has been named the new head football coach at Holly Springs.
The Jackson County native worked the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the Hawks. He was approved for the promotion at the July school board meeting.
He takes over for Marcus Autry, who is now the assistant principal at the high school.
Autry, a former standout at Pontotoc, compiled a 5-16 record in two seasons.
It is Rankin’s first head coaching position. Before coming to Holly Springs, he worked as an assistant at Olive Branch Pearl River Central, Picayune, East Central (Moss Point), and Christian Life Academy (Baton
Rouge). He served as offensive coordinator for four of his 11 seasons as an assistant.
