FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Mississippi State could not overcome an early deficit as the Bulldogs dropped a 6-1 decision to 13th-ranked Arkansas in a SEC baseball game played before a crowd of 10,784 Saturday night at Baum Stadium.
MSU dropped its fifth straight contest, falling to 21-14 overall and 5-9 in league play.
The Razorbacks built an early 6-0 lead, thanks in part to five runs in the home half of the third inning.
Nick Routt worked three innings, allowing eight hits and six runs (all earned), with three strikeouts and no walks.
MSU finished with nine hits, including C.T. Bradford’s fourth three-hit game of the season. Thigpen also had multiple hits.
The series finale is at 1:05 p.m. today.
