BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Fueled by a first place finish from junior Barnabas Kirui, the Ole Miss men’s cross country team won the team title at the Samford Dual Meet Saturday morning with a total score of 28 points.
Kirui posted a 5k time of 14:59.29 to set a new course record and claim his second individual title of the season.
He also won the Brooks Twilight Classic in the opening meetof the season.
Senior Gabriel Ngwiri finished second for Ole Miss and third overall after posting a time of 15:52.41.
Ole Miss returns to action Oct. 17 when the Rebels take part in the Pre-Nationals Meet from Terre Haute, Ind.
