Rebels golfer Morris falls short in regional

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ole Miss sophomore Blake Morris shot a 1-over par 73 in the third and final round of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional
on Saturday, but finished two shots behind individual champion Jonathan
Grey of Georgia State.
Morris, who played the back 9 in 4-under, needed to win to advance to the NCAA Championships.
Mississippi State improved for a second day in a row and finished 10th.
MSU’s Joe Sakulpolphaisan tied for 28th, Barret Edens (Okolona) tied for 30th and Chad Ramey (Fulton) tied for 40th.
SEC champion Alabama won the regional crown, while Florida finished second.
LSU, Tennessee and Coastal Carolina rounded out the top five that will
advance to nationals.
