After two weeks of mostly morning workouts, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze is giving his team a taste of football under the lights.

That’s what it will be for the season opener when the Rebels take on Vanderbilt Aug. 29 in Nashville. The ESPN telecast will begin at 8:15 p.m.

After an off day Sunday, the Rebels practiced Monday evening at 8:15. They will work at 6:15 today, then 4 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:15 again on Thursday.

The final workout of the week will be Friday at 4 p.m.

Practices are no longer open to the public. Focus will begin to shift this week to preparing for the Commodores.

Gradually the Rebels are getting healthier as key players who had missed much of camp have returned to practice. Among them are nose tackle Issac Gross and cornerback Charles Sawyer.

Freeze was hopeful that Senquez Golson, the cornerback opposite Sawyer, would also return this week.
