Ole Miss and Mississippi State have learned their postseason destinations.

The Rebels (7-5) are headed to the Music City Bowl in Nashville to face Georgia Tech of the ACC. MSU (6-6) was invited to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis to face Conference USA champion Rice.

This is the first time MSU has earned a bowl berth four consecutive seasons. Ole Miss is going for the second straight year.

After the win over LSU I was getting kind of excited about bowl season. Then the Rebbles dropped their last two games and I don’t want to go to a bowl game to see a team that lost its last two regular season games. Also, Nashville sucks. Last time I was there, I got mugged at convenience store in the suburbs. I’ve been to L.A., Chicago, D.C., and New York with no problems whatsoever, but go to Nashville once and I get mugged. Southern cities are the worst when it comes to crime–probably because impoverished southerners are so darned desperate. Earlier I was hoping that Ole Miss could get the peach bowl or whatever they’re calling it today–the Lifestyles Condom Bowl?? I wanted to see the Rebbles matched up against Davy Klutzkliffe’s new team, Duke.
