Ole Miss begins its 11th baseball season under head coach Mike Bianco at 3 p.m., today.
The Rebels take on Wright State in the first of three games this weekend at Swayze Field. Games 2 and 3 are set for Saturday and Sunday, both at 1:30.
Ole Miss is coming off a 39-24 season in which it reached the NCAA tournament but was eliminated in the Charlottesville Regional by No. 1-ranked Virginia.
The Rebels have been picked fourth in the SEC West by the league’s coaches.
Wright State was 31-25 last year. The Raiders won the Horizon League championship with a 17-6 regular season mark but were defeated in the championship game of the conference tournament.
Wright State is led by a pro prospect on the mound. Junior right-hander Casey Henn led the Horizon League in 2010 with a 3.19 earned run average and a .241 opponents’ batting average.
