OXFORD – No. 25 Ole Miss wrapped up a series sweep with Sunday’s 11-1 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock.

The Rebels (14-2) clicked for 14 hits, led by Auston Bousfield (2 for 4), who drove in a pair of runs and scored.

Sam Smith (3-0) picked up the win, working six innings and allowing one run on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Three relievers – Jacob Waguespack, Scott Weathersby and Evan Anderson – followed with shutout innings to wrap up the victory.

The game was scoreless until the fourth, when Will Allen walked and scored from first on a fielding error after a Sikes Orvis base hit.

With the game tied at 1 in the fifth, the Rebels scored three runs – on RBI hits by Bousfield, Austin Anderson and Allen.

Bousfield added a bases-loaded sac fly in the sixth.

“One of the things we challenge the pitchers when we’re winning is to keep the momentum in our dugout and have a shutdown inning,” Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said. “We did that today.”

Ole Miss will visit Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday and Wednesday, then opens SEC play on Friday at South Carolina.

Mississippi State 6, Arizona 4: The No. 12 Bulldogs (12-7) snapped a three-game losing skid by winning their final game at the Hi Corbett Classic in Tucson.

Reliever Jonathan Holder (1-1), normally MSU’s closer, worked a career-high 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, allowing two runs on five hits. Austin Schnabel (0-1) took the loss for Arizona (8-9).

At the plate, C.T. Bradford led MSU with a pair of triples, giving him four on the weekend.

The Bulldogs are home against Southern Illinois on Tuesday, then open SEC play on Friday at Georgia.
