OMAHA, Neb. — Ole Miss, and its success with transfer players, continued Friday with the announcement by wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow that he was headed to Oxford.
Stringfellow, a native of Moreno Valley, California, caught 20 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown last season as a member of the Washington Huskies. He was heavily courted by Nebraska. In a story that was published late Thursday night by the Omaha World-Herald, the 6-foot-3, 229-pound Stringfellow said he felt like his visit to Oxford on Wednesday put Ole Miss over the top.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze was in Omaha on Tuesday to watch the College World Series, but then returned following the Rebels’ 2-1 win over Texas Tech to recruit.
Stringfellow will have to sit out the 2014 season, but he does have three more years to help the Rebels.
