The Pontotoc Red Sox won five games in three days to be crowned the Eagle Classic Tournament Champions in Dyersburg, Tenn. over the weekend.
The Red Sox won two games Sunday to claim the championship, beating the Tupelo 49ers 2-0 in the semifinals and outslugged the Tennessee Lightning 16-12 in the championship game.
In the championship game, the Red Sox scored a run in every inning except the third, while outscoring the Lightning 10-4 over the last four innings of play.
Pontotoc will stay on the road for their next games as the travel to Mountain Home, Ark. to take part in the Brooks Robinson Locker Room Tournament starting Wednesday.
