TUPELO – Four-time defending 6A state champion Tupelo won a five-team, 18-hole match Thursday at Tupelo Country Club.
The Golden Wave, led by senior Wilson Reeder with a 1-over-par 73, finished with a 299 team score.
“It was nice to get to play 18,: Reeder said. “To me, 18 holes is more of a match. When you play nine holes and have one or two bad holes, it’s hard to make it up.”
Jackson Academy (312) was second, Madison Central (327) third, Baldwyn (331) fourth and Tupelo’s “B” team (349) fifth.
Jackson Academy’s Wilson Furr was the medalist with an even-par 72.
For Tupelo, Austin Rose shot a 74, Hayden Buckey 75, Noah West 77 and Blake Harris 85.
Hayden Solomon recorded an 80 for the Tupelo “B” unit.
