REWIND: Mississippi State (17-9, 4-2 SEC)

8TB6_MSU_primary_logoLooking back: The Diamond Dogs won their second straight SEC series taking two games at home against Vanderbilt. MSU won the first two games 17-2 and 6-3 before dropping the finale 5-1 on Sunday.

Looking ahead: The Bulldogs host Southeast Missouri tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Rankings: State jumped five spots in the Baseball America poll up to No. 16.

In the SEC: The Diamond Dogs host their second consecutive weekend series, this time welcoming Arkansas. Friday’s game is slated for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch while Saturday’s start will be at 2 p.m. The finale on Sunday will begin at 1:30 p.m.

MVP: Sophomore right-handed pitcher Preston Brown was impressive in his first career SEC start. Brown went eight strong innings on Friday night allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking one. The Germantown, Tenn., native is now 3-0 with a team-low 1.12 earned run average.
