Pine Grove High School filled two coaching vacancies late last week.
Principal Clint Stroupe confirmed the hiring of Joe Dan Roberts to head boys basketball and Will Wallis to coach baseball, pending board approval.
Roberts comes over from New Albany, where he served as assistant
middle school boys coach. He replaces Brad Pounders, who is now principal at Blue Mountain.
Wallis, a Ripley native, graduated from Blue Mountain college in May.
He was a member of the BMC baseball team, where he earned All-TranSouth Athletic Conference honors after batting .292 with
a team-high 31 runs batted in at catcher. Wallis replaces Mark Guntharp,
who coached Pine Grove for two seasons.
