Rock-N-Rollers come up short in season opener

TUPELO – Saturday wasn’t the best of days for Tupelo Rock-N-Rollers head coach Brian Alexander.
After suffering an eye infection Saturday afternoon, Alexander’s team would then suffer a defeat in Saturday’s night’s opening game of its inaugural season in the World Basketball Association Exposure League.
The Rock-N-Rollers lost 77-71 to the league’s defending champion, the Decatur (Ga.) Court Kings, in front of an estimated 250 fans at the St. Paul Life Center in Tupelo.
“When we got to the last couple of minutes, the ball didn’t bounce our way,” Alexander said.
“We just didn’t finish tonight.”
Darryl Wilson led the Rock-N-Rollers with 16 points, while Bennie Lewis and Jamal Walker each had 17 for the Court Kings.
