Saltillo head football coach resigns after three seasons

SALTILLO – Saltillo High head football coach Greg May resigned after three seasons at the helm. He was 5-26 as the head coach.
The former Saltillo assistant and Guntown Middle School head coach said it was simply time to move on.
“Everything is fine. It’s just pretty much a family decision,” said the 39-year-old May, a Saltillo native and 1989 Saltillo High graduate. “It’s just time for me to move on.
“It’s pretty much just a family decision that felt like it was the right one for my family and me.
“I’ve always said, ‘My first one (coaching job) would be for me and the next one would be for my family.’”
May said he would finish out his contract, including his teaching duties, through the end of this school year.
