HOOVER, Ala. – Trey Killian (4-8) and Zach Jackson combined to throw a seven-hit shutout on Tuesday as Arkansas beat Texas A&M 4-0 in the SEC tournament opening round.

Arkansas (36-21) advances to face Ole Miss today. Texas A&M (33-24) was eliminated.

Eric Fisher hit his ninth homer of the season int he second to give the Razorbacks a 1-0 lead.

Also Tuesday

Vanderbilt 3, Tennessee 2: Walker Buehler (10-2) pitched eight innings of six-hit ball for the Commodores (41-16), who advance to play LSU today.

All the scoring came in the first two innings. Rhett Wiseman tripled to open the bottom of the second and scored the go-ahead run on Ro Coleman’s single.

Tennessee (31-23) was making its first tourney appearance since 2007.

Kentucky 7, Alabama 1: A.J. Reed (11-2) gave up one run over five innings to earn the win for the Wildcats (33-22), who play top-seeded Florida today.
