BRUCE – Sid Burt will now have more time to attend to the cows on his farm.
The Bruce High baseball coach of seven seasons resigned on Monday from his head coaching duties. His Trojans teams went a combined 82-82.
Josh Dowdy will take over the Trojans baseball program.
Dowdy was recently at Pontotoc High.
The 30-year-old coach – who has 75 cows right now on he and his brother Seth’s farm – will stay on at Bruce as a seventh-grade history teacher and high school track and field coach.
Sid Burt guided the Trojans baseball team to five postseason appearances, including a trip to the 2010 state semifinals series.
