STARKVILLE – Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury did not comment on what junior forward Kodi Augustus said following Friday’s 88-74 loss to Rider, but he did say through a team spokesman, “You’ll see my comment Thursday night.”
That’s when the No. 18 Bulldogs next play, against Southeastern Louisiana at Humphrey Coliseum.
It wasn’t clear if that meant Stansbury planned to bench Augustus, who ranted Friday about his lack of playing time – 15 minutes – and heavily criticized Stansbury’s in-game tactics.
“He’s the coach, but, I talked to my dad, he said, ‘We got out-coached.’ So I don’t know,” Augustus said after the game.
Augustus started the first nine games of last season but then, due to a “coach’s decision,” saw very limited playing time until near season’s end, when he performed well and helped MSU win the SEC Tournament.
