State team ties for 35th at USGA Championship

The Mississippi entry at the USGA Men’s State Team Championship in Galloway,
NJ., finished in a tie for 35th on Friday.
The state’s team was made up of Mississippi State golf coach Clay Homan (83-73-79–235), Houston’s Alex Rowland (81-79-76–236) and
Jackson’s Eddie Brescher III (79-75-78).
Their 462 total tied them with Massachusetts and left them just nine strokes out of the top 20.
New York (410) won the event, with Iowa (421) second and Pennsylvania (420) third.
