Three area schools win archery titles

Saltillo, Hatley and Myrtle won state championships Wednesday in the high school archery state tournament in Jackson.
Saltillo won the 5A title with 3,329 points, Hatley captured the 2A championship with 3,146 points and Myrtle won the 1A
crown with 3,094 points at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center.
The sport is sanctioned by the MHSAA, but the state shoot is not.
Top scorers: Saltillo: Landon Jones (288×300), Jacob Henson (286),
Dillon Hall (283), Kent Phillips (282) and Harley Rider (281).
Hatley: Braeden Eldridge (273), James McClaine (266), Zach Allred (266), Maggie Beth Kennedy (266) and Hunter Colburn (266).
Myrtle: Kelsey Whitten (273), Richard Miles (272), Luke Taylor
(268) and Zach Whitehead (267).
