Tickets going fast as Rebels set new mark for baseball sales

OXFORD – Fans wanting to be a part of the 2010 baseball season at Ole Miss might want to move quickly and buy season tickets to assure themselves of a seat and be a part of the excitement as the Rebels look to defend their SEC Championship from a year ago.

Season tickets have sold at a record pace, with the Rebels already surpassing the number of season ticket packages sold last year to set a new single-season record for ticket sales. To date, 5,278 season ticket packages have been sold for the 2010 season.

That total passes last year’s record setting mark of 5,139 season ticket packages sold.

Box seats and reserved grandstand seating remain available for the upcoming season. To order tickets, fans should go online to the ticket office or call 662-915-7167 or 1-888-732-8587 (in-state calls only).

Ole Miss has become one of the premier destinations for college baseball in the country in the Mike Bianco era, with the Rebels ranking in the top 10 in attendance nationally six straight seasons. Last year, Ole Miss was second nationally in total attendance with more than 273,000 fans flocking to Oxford to watch Rebel baseball.

The Rebels open the 2010 season on Friday, February 19, against Louisiana-Monroe at 3 p.m. It is the first of a three-game series to be played against the Warhawks at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.
