The Lee County Tiger-Cats (3-2) host the Louisiana Bayou Vipers (4-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday in a key Gridiron Developmental Football League Midsouth South Division game at Tupelo Christian Prep stadium.
Lee County has won two straight games, including last weekend’s 24-6 road victory against the Arkansas Pirates. The Tiger-Cats defeated the Midsouth North Division-leading Tennessee Hurricanes 20-6 two weeks ago.
“We need about four more wins to be in playoff contention,” Tiger-Cats general manager Lee Allen Hersey said. “We’ve had good support, but we’d like to get the community more involved.”
Tickets for the game are $10 while children 10-under are free.
The team is also sponsoring a free backpack/school supplies give-a-way from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 30 at Front Street Park in Tupelo. There will also be a drawing for cash and a plasma TV.
