Two of Northeast Mississippi’s most-decorated high school soccer players are scheduled to sign national letters of intent today with NCAA Division I programs.
Amory forward Addie Forbus, the state’s alltime leading scorer with 231
goals, is expected to sign with Ole Miss.
She also led the state in scoring this season with 50 goals.
Tupelo keeper Kat Stratton, the Daily Journal’s Player of the Year last season, is scheduled to sign with Alabama.
Two other Lady Wave players are expected to sign today – midfielder Abby Phillips with Mississippi State and forward Bryson Rial with Ouachita Baptist University, an NCAA Division II school.
Forbus, Stratton and Phillips will play Saturday in the 2013 Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Game in Clinton.
Today is also national signing day for the state’s community colleges.
