Tupelo Combine showcases state's high school football talents

TUPELO – With baseball all-stars all over the place, football took center stage Saturday morning at Tupelo High School at the 2011 Tupelo Combine.

Aberdeen outside linebacker Michael Hodges was one of six Bulldogs participating in drills.

“It’s real fun,” said Hodges. “You’re getting a lot of exposure and you get a lot of drills that will help us a lot with our footwork.”

Aberdeen carried six players, Damian Walker, Ricky McCallister, Braxton Anderson, Tevin Blanchard and Demario Wilson along with Hodges.

They were six of 155 players from 37 different schools across the state participating in the event organized by Scout.com’s Steve Robertson.
