Tupelo's Chris Stratton makes pro debut

Tupelo native Chris Stratton, the 20th overall pick in the 2012 Major League draft, made his pro baseball debut on Sunday night.
Starting for the Salem-Keizer (Ore.) Volcanoes in the Class A Northwest League, Stratton pitched two innings against Yakima – he was on a limited pitch count – and left his first start with a no-decision.
Stratton, a former Mississippi State standout, gave up one hit, a two-out solo homer in the first. He struck our three and walked one.
Salem-Keizer lost the game 10-8 to Yakima.
Former Ole Miss pitcher RJ Hively picked up his third save for Yakima after pitching the final inning.
