BLUE MOUNTAIN – Kati Reynolds, a four-year letter-winner for Tupelo High School, has signed a women’s golf scholarship with Blue Mountain College.
“This is a big day for the BMC women’s program,” golf coach Danny McKenzie said. “Kati is an outstanding player with a whole lot of potential. The better she gets — and she will get better the way she works at it — the better our program will become.
“I really enjoyed watching Kati play this spring; she just looks like a golfer. She’s a very focused young lady who is serious about golf but who is also a lot of fun to be around. Kati will be a great addition to the golf program and to the BMC campus.”
Reynolds, who competed four years in the Mississippi High School Activities Association district and state golf tournaments, has been the Pontotoc Country Club junior champion the past three years.
A year ago she won both the state and regional Optimist Junior International tournaments for Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.
For her senior class project at Tupelo High, Reynolds conducted a golf tournament to raise money for and awareness of breast cancer.
“That tells you a lot about who Kati is,” McKenzie said. “She was able to turn her passion for golf into something that will have an impact way beyond the golf course.”
