Tupelo’s Stratton earns first pro baseball win

By NEMS Daily Journal

Chris Stratton, the former Tupelo and Mississippi State ace, picked up his first professional victory on Saturday.
Stratton pitched five innings of six-hit ball as Class A Augusta defeated Lexington 4-1. He gave up the earned run and struck out three, walking one.
The 22-year-old Stratton was the 20th overall pick by San Francisco in the 2012 player draft. He appeared in five minor league games last summer, going 0-1 with a 2.76 ERA.
