Two Tupelo-based fighters claim titles

A pair of fighters from Tupelo’s professional MMA squad, Team AGEMA, were winners in their fights on the Empire Fights card Saturday night at Harrah’s Casino in Tunica.
Cody Floyd (2-0), from Mooreville, defeated Harry Johnson (4-3) of Memphis at 145 pounds as the referee stepped in to stop the bout at 4:05 in the second round of a scheduled three-rounder. Also, amateur Issac Ware (5-2) of Tupelo, who took the fight at the last minute, beat Jimmy White (2-1) by split decision.
A third area fighter, Johnathan Burdine of Corinth, lost by KO in the second round of his pro bout with Taylor Callens .
Team AGEMA is based out of Tupelo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym, located off of FencoDrive.
