FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ole Miss scored two runs in the top of the 10th but could not hold off Arkansas, who rallied for three in the bottom of the frame and a 4-3 victory Friday, clinching the SEC Western Division title for the Razorbacks. The rubber match of the series is Saturday at 2:05 p.m.
Knotted at 1-1 after nine innings, the Rebels took a two-run lead with Fuller Smith tripling in the go-ahead run and Brett Basham pushing him home with a sacrifice bunt. In the bottom of the 10th, the Razorbacks used four walks, an error, an RBI-foulout and a two-run, walkoff double by Wayne Hrozek to pick up the win.
No. 21 Ole Miss falls to 34-21, 15-14 in league play, while ninth-ranked Arkansas improves to 38-17, 18-11.
