UPDATE: Carter leaving Tupelo High

Tupelo High School football assistant coach Darryl Carter is leaving to become the new head coach at Kemper County High School in DeKalb.

Carter, who coached wide receivers the last five seasons for the Golden Wave, said it was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

Carter, a Jones County native, played indoor professional football for the Tupelo Fire Ants and Mississippi Mudcats.
