OXFORD – The 2010 Grove Bowl, which marks the culmination of Ole Miss’ spring football drills, has been rescheduled for April 17, it was announced here Thursday. Game time will be determined at a later date.
“In order to not conflict with the Double Decker Arts Festival, we have decided to hold the Grove Bowl on April 17,” said Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt. “Our original decision to end spring practice on April 24 was well thought out, and the schedule fit our practice needs. It would have also coincided with the LSU baseball series. However, we are team players and are pleased to switch our dates to best accommodate the City of Oxford.”
Other events surrounding Red-Blue Weekend will be announced in the months to come.
The Rebel football team is set to open its third spring practice under Nutt the week of March 22. Ole Miss recently concluded its second straight nine-win season for the first time since 1961-62, and notched a 21-7 Cotton Bowl victory over No. 18 Oklahoma State.
